ZWEDRU, October 7 (LINA) - The Grand Gedeh County local leadership has called on citizens to cooperate with the County Ebola Response Outreach Team as the “Emergency Power on Ebola” campaign enters its third month.

As part of the outreach, the head of the County Ebola Task Force, Superintendent Peter L. Solo and his team, will tour Tchein and Putu administrative districts, while the Development Superintendent, Abraham T. Gbeway, will visit Gbao, Bhai and Gboe/Ploe Districts.

Superintendent Solo told the Liberia News Agency prior to his departure that the tour of the various districts is intended to hammer home and reinforce Ebola preventive messages disseminated in chiefdoms, towns, clans and villages to ensure that the people adhere to them.

He explained that his visit to the districts is also geared towards monitoring completion of the distribution of personal preventive materials donated by Putu Iron ore Mining (PIOM), German Agro Action (GAA), and OXFAM, among others, to help the county battle the spread of the disease.

In Kumeh Town, Tchein District, Superintendent Solo called on chiefs, elders, women and youth leaders to join the Ebola fight, noting that government attaches importance to eradication of the virus.

The County Ebola Task Force, set up in August this year, holds meetings thrice week, and has subsequently decentralized its activities to enable local officials circulate anti-Ebola messages in their areas of assignment.
