ROBERTSPORT, October 11 (LINA)-More than 250 disabled persons in Grand Cape Mount County are calling on the County Ebola Task Force to include them in the Ebola prevention awareness campaign.
According to the Liberia News Agency correspondent in the county, the disclosure was made Wednesday in Sinje Town during the County Ebola Task Force coordination meeting by the County Coordinator of the National Union of Organizations of the Disabled (NUOD), Bendu
Fahnbulleh.
Madame Fahnbulleh said because of their condition in society, they have been denied many opportunities that could enable them to contribute meaningfully to their nation by engaging in praiseworthy activities that could improve their living conditions.
She said their total involvement in the dissemination of Ebola prevention awareness messages could encourage other disabled members to play an active role in educating people about the danger of the virus.
Madame Fahnbulleh said the prevention of the deadly virus should not be the responsibility of only the government, but every Liberian.
She noted that the disabled community in Grand Cape Mount County is capable of carrying out door-to door Ebola prevention awareness campaign in their various communities.
