BUCHANAN, October 14 (LINA) -The Masonic Craft of Liberia has donated food items and detergents to the Grand Bassa Ebola Taskforce to help enhance its capacity in the fight against the disease.
Items donated include 100 bags of 25kg rice, 50 cartons Pure Heaven wine, 50 cartons Clorox, 50 cartons sanitizers, 100 sachets of mineral water and 5 bales of used clothing. The total value of the items is put at US$10, 000.
Making the presentation to the Bassa Ebola Taskforce on behalf of the Masons and Eastern Star of Liberia, the Deputy District Grand Master of Grand Bassa County, Right Worshipful Brother Moses D. Payegar, said: “We come to Buchanan, Grand Bassa with very heavy hearts… we are laden by the burden imposed upon us by the deadly disease called Ebola, but we have come to give God Almighty thanks for his mercy and grace for some of us to be here today.”
Payrgar said the Ebola virus is a war without frontier and as such one cannot run away from it, noting that it was time to identify with Grand Bassa as charity is part of every Mason around the world.
He said “Masons are not people who only wear black coat and black tie to entertain themselves, but at the depth of our hearts, we have our fellowmen at heart”.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the county task force, the coordinator of the Grand Bassa County Task Force, Superintendent Etweeda Cooper, thanked Masons and Grand Chapters of the Eastern Star for the gesture, and promised that the items would be distributed to individuals quarantined at holding centers as well as Ebola-affected districts and communities.
