BOPOLU, October 17 (LINA) -The Gbarpolu County Ebola Task Force has recorded its first confirmed Ebola death since the outbreak of the virus in that part of the country.

The disclosure was contained in a document read by the Gbarpolu County Ebola Taskforce Chair, Superintendent Allen Gbowee, at the county’s periodic Ebola taskforce meeting held in Bopolu City on Thursday.

Superintendent Gbowee disclosed that the victim, a 16-year-old female from Kpayeaquelleh Town in Gbarpolu, died on October 10 at the Bomi Ebola Treatment Unit.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Gbowee has disclosed that there are two confirmed cases of Ebola, who were receiving treatment at the Jallah Lone Hospital in Bopolu City, but were later transferred to the Tubmanburg Ebola Treatment Unit.

Gbowee has also disclosed that a 14-year-old boy from Parker Town in Gbarma District, who contracted the virus few weeks ago, has fully recovered after undergoing treatment.
