MONROVIA, October 17 (LINA) - Liberians have been warned not to allow temperature takers at public and private facilities touch them as a precautionary measure against contracting the Ebola virus.

Assistant Health Minister for Preventive Services, Tolbert Nyenswah, gave the warning when he addressed the Information Ministry’s daily press briefing at the ministry Friday.

In recent times, security officers at public and private entities have been testing the temperatures of people entering those facilities as a precautionary measure against the Ebola virus, according to the Liberia News Agency.

“We should not allow them to touch us because we don’t know if they are also free from the virus,” he emphasized, adding “those who are testing temperature should not be touching and sticking papers on you.”

Meanwhile, Nyenswah has disclosed that there are about 750 beds at the various Ebola Treatment Units (ETUs) around the country, with over 391 of them empty and appealed to those showing signs and symptoms of the Ebola virus to report voluntarily for treatment.
