SANNEQUELLIE, November 6 (LINA) - Liberia Development Foundation (LDF) has donated drugs and medical supplies valued over US$3,000 to the Nimba County Health Team to help contain the spread of the Ebola virus in county.
Presenting the items to the county health team at the G.W Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie on Tuesday, LFD’s founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Joseph Korto said the donation was his institution’s way of helping Liberians battle the Ebola virus and other curable diseases.
The items included Fetal Monitor, X-ray Machine, Ultrasound Machines, Anesthesia Machines, Ventilators, Diagnostic equipment, hospital beds, wheelchairs, crushes and personal protective equipment.
He disclosed that the medical supplies were given to LDF by CURE, one of the world’s largest nonprofit organizations that has been donating medical supplies and equipment to hospitals, Clinics, and community health centers in developing countries.
Receiving the items, Nimba County Health Officer (CHO) and head of the County Health Team, Doctor Collins Boah thanked LDF for the donation and said the equipment will be used to battle Ebola and other diseases in the County.
Nimba County Superintendent Fong Zuagele also lauded Project CURE and the Liberia Development Foundation for the gesture and promised to use them for the intended purpose.
