MONROVIA, November 11 (LINA) - A youth group in District #2, Montserrado County, is calling on their Representative Sekou S. Kanneh to account for Ebola funds, but Kanneh’s office has dismissed their claims.

The United Youth for Positive Action (UYPA) alleged that the Representative needs to account for US$6,748.251 out of US$14,000 he received as the district’s share of the County Development Fund.

Addressing a news conference in the district on Sunday, UYPA acting chairman Alfred D. Tokpah, alleged that Rep. Kanneh on September 17presented to residents at a district meeting L$500,000 plus 200 buckets and 19 cartons of soap as the county’s support to the district in the Ebola fight.

Tokpah told reporters that following background investigation, it was discovered that the Representative allegedly received US$14,000 on behalf of the district and not the L$500,000 he earlier presented.

When contacted, the Administrative Assistant to the Montserrado County District #2 Representative, Mr. Ishmael Kromah, said the Representative received only L$500,000, 200 buckets and 19 cartons of soap which were distributed among the 19 communities in the district.

Kromah has challenged the UYPA to go beyond mere speculation and make substantive allegations.
