MONROVIA, November 13(LINA) -The leader of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), George Weah, has emphasized the need for Liberians to work together to eradicate the Ebola virus from the country.
Weah reminded Liberians that Ebola is real and it remains the nation’s common enemy, noting that when Liberians work together, regardless of political divide, they will succeed in defeating the disease.
He made the remarks Thursday when 14 of the 17 members of the Montserrado County Legislative Caucus endorsed his candidacy for the pending Special Senatorial Election at the Capitol Building.
In a statement read by Representative Edwin Snowe, the Montserrado Caucus said the decision to endorse Weah was prompted by his unifying character.
Those who endorsed Weah include Saah Joseph, Thomas Fallah, Solomon George, Julius Berrian, Gabriel Nyenkan, William Dakel, Abraham Corneh, Munah Pelham, Adolph Lawrence, Edward Forh and Acarous Gray.
Reps. Bill Twehway and Henry Fahnbulleh of the ruling Unity Party (UP) also endorsed Weah.
