MONROVIA, November 17 (LINA) - Deputy Information Minister Robert Kpadeh is urging the Liberian media to increase public awareness about the Ebola disease to guarantee Liberia’s success in curbing the virus.

Kpadeh said with significant achievements in the nation's quest to roll back the Ebola virus, it is crucial for media outlets and individual journalists to direct their reportage to the eradication of  the disease.

Minister Kpadeh made the call at the weekend at a civil society and media leadership workshop organized by the Center for Media Studies and Peace Building (CEMESP) in partnership with the Press Union of Liberia and
the Ministry of Information held at a local hotel in Monrovia.

He emphasized that the media stands as a credible partner whose influence is
required for Liberia to denounce the unnecessary stigmatization and isolation being carried out both at home and abroad against Liberians.

"Ebola is a diabolical virus and we must build an alliance that will serve the common good of all Liberians, the media is key in this alliance," Kpadeh stressed.
