MONROVIA, November 19 (LINA) - Grand Kru Senator Cletus Wotorson has urged contestants in the December 16 Special Senatorial Election to use their campaign speeches to remind the electorate of the Ebola virus.
Speaking during the Senate’s extraordinary sitting Tuesday, Wotorson indicated that while Liberia has made gains in the Ebola fight, it is important to remember that the country is not yet Ebola free.
He added that the candidates should be reminded that as much as they have their electoral aspirations, a national priority is the complete eradication of the Ebola virus.
Wotorson praised candidates for the level of cooperation they have demonstrated so far, and urged them to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by the Ministry of Health and partners to contain the Ebola virus.
The National Elections Commission (NEC) has announced that campaigning for the December 16 Special Senatorial Election will begin on November
20 and end on December 15.
