International Center (ABIC), Yvette Chesson-Wureh, has underscored the need to empower market women to combat Ebola in market places.

Wureh said market women should be trained to spread Ebola preventive messages in market places, adding “it will help eradicate the virus 100 percent from Liberia.”

The ABIC Coordinator made the statement Tuesday when she launched a project code named “You can stop Ebola; Women working toward zero cases,” held at the
Nancy B. Doe Market in the Monrovia suburb of Sinkor.

She observed that since the outbreak of Ebola in Liberia, women have been most affected by the virus due to their role as caretakers in homes and marketplaces.

Wureh emphasized that until Liberia is declared Ebola free, Liberians should continue to observe the preventive measures outlined by health authorities to eradicate the disease.
