MONROVIA, November 19 (LINA) - World Bank Vice President for Africa Makhtar Diop has emphasized the importance of creating health systems that are resilient and able to respond rapidly to health crisis like the Ebola disease.

According to Diop, this means increasing efficiency, providing incentives to doctors and other health workers and establishing the right kind of facilities so that these countries can respond rapidly to the changing situation.

The World Bank Group is mobilizing nearly $1billion in financing for countries hardest-hit by the Ebola crisis.

This includes more than $500 million for the emergency response and at least,  US$450 million from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, to enable trade, investment and employment in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
