SANNIQUIELLIE, November 20 (LINA) – Africare, a US-based relief group, has embarked on the distribution of medical supplies valued at US$2 million to health facilities across Nimba County.
Africare Primary Health Care Coordinator in Nimba, Joseph Kowah, said the distribution which started Tuesday, November 18, is intended to aid health facilities in Nimba fight diseases.
The materials include examination gloves, surgical gowns, surgical materials, personal protective equipment, oral re-hydration salt and body pressure materials, among others.
Kowah told the Liberia News Agency Wednesday that Africare is committed to working with the Nimba County Health Team to ensure citizens receive better health care services.
Africare is a US-based relief humanitarian organization which started operations in Liberia in 1992 and has invested about US$30 million on projects in agriculture and food security, health, HIV and AIDS, humanitarian and emergency relief, infrastructure and maternal and child health.
