VOINJAMA, November 20 (LINA) -Lofa County Superintendent George Dunor is urging leaders to use the local media to sensitize citizens about the launch of the second phase of the Ebola awareness campaign in the county.

Dunor said it is mandatory for all commissioners, paramount, general and town chiefs to use community radio stations in the county to inform citizens in the local dialects about the launching of phase two of the awareness campaign on Wednesday, November 26.

The Superintendent’s call comes in the wake of constant observations from health authorities in the county regarding cross-border trading between Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, something , he said, was “very risky and could also cause a new outbreak” of the Ebola virus in the county.

He warned that there will be a resurgence of Ebola if the people of Lofa fail to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by health authorities, and called on citizens and residents of the County to continue to abide by these measures.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency at his office in Voinjama Thursday, Superintendent Dunor also sympathized with those who lost relatives to the Ebola virus in the county for the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Dunor is commending international partners and organizations for their timely intervention in the fight against Ebola in Lofa County.

He has also commended health workers in the county for their sacrificial services to save the lives of their fellowmen.
