Monrovia, July 5, 2012: The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam   Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent two separate messages of congratulations to the Republic of Malawi and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on the occasions marking the celebration of the 48th and 50th independence anniversaries of the two countries respectively. 

 

The Republic of Algeria commemorates its 50th Independence Anniversary July 5, 2012 while Malawi will Friday July 6, 2012 observe its 48th independence anniversary.

In a message to her fellow female leader of Malawi, President Joyce Banda, Madam Johnson Sirleaf extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes and through her, to the Government and people of Malawi as her country celebrates this joyous occasion.

President Johnson Sirleaf also hoped and prayed that as Malawi commemorate this auspicious occasion, the Almighty God will continue to shower the second African female president with abundant wisdom and good health as she steers the affairs of her compatriots to noble heights.

In her congratulatory message to Algerian President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika, President Johnson Sirleaf extended deep felicitations and best wishes to the Government of Algeria, adding that as the Algerian people observe this historic milestone in its national history, the bond of friendship subsisting between Liberia and Algeria will be solidified in the years ahead.

The Liberian Leader then prayed that the two governments will work together to ensure the full realization of the objectives of the African Union (AU).
