ROBERTSPORT, April 5 (LINA) - A 25-man Development Council Committee (DCC) has been constituted in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County, to spearhead
development in the district.
District Commissioner Kaison Kiadii told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) that the DCC has been mandated to monitor government development projects in the district to avoid rancor between contractors and citizens.
He said he has also informed the committee to formulate strategies that will encourage contractors to involve the locals in all projects as a means of financially empowering the residents in project areas.
According to him, the committee has also been empowered to resolve all internal conflicts in the district, including land disputes.
Commissioner Kiadii named officers of the committee as Edward Kemokai, chairman; Aumky Manobah, co-chairman; Oliver Siafa Smith, Secretary; Kula Balo, Treasurer and Musu Sheriff, chaplain, among others.
Commissioner Kiadii said the officers will be inducted into office on April 11 in the district.
