ROBERTSPORT, November 26 (LINA) -The Ministry of Agriculture has introduced a new cassava production technology to farmers in Grand Cape Mount County, an official has disclosed.

Grand Cape Mount County Agriculture Coordinator Z. Edmund Greaves said the new method will improve and promote cassava production, noting that ministry has reached a decision to help set up cassava nurseries for the local farmers.

Greaves made the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Tuesday in Robertsport.

He noted that cassava production will help improve the living standard of local farmers.

Greaves said despite the outbreak of the Ebola virus, the Ministry of Agriculture has been engaged in series of activities to empower local farmers to produce more cash crops.

Meanwhile, Greaves has disclosed that the ministry is also prepared to supply local farmers with varieties of new corn seeds that will be ready for harvest in three months after cultivation.
