AFL Committed To Changing Lives Of Soldiers

Defense Minister Brownie Samukai has pledged the commitment of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) to transform the lives of the men and women in the military.

He said the assurance of the welfare of personnel through salary increment, capacity building and the creation of additional opportunities are key among the priorities of the ministry.

Speaking at a symposium as part of the 58th anniversary of the AFL held at the Monrovia City Hall Monday, Samukai said building the individual capacity of personnel will prepare them for civil life after serving the army.

He lauded participants and international partners for the level of support and for taking part in the symposium which is intended to sharpen the intellectual skills, correcting odds and charting the right course for the country’s military.

Meanwhils, Samukai is calling on the public to take up time and form part of the 2015 Armed Forces Day celebration slated for Wednesday, February 11.
