MONROVIA, November 19 (LINA) -Lofa County Representative Clarence Massaquoi has introduced a bill to repeal the Liberia National Lotteries Corporation Act of 1993, and to enact “The National Lottery Authority Act”.

In a communication to House Speaker J. Alexander Tyler, which was read in session on Tuesday, Massaquoi noted that when passed, the bill will further explore means to improve the lives of Liberians who have the passion for games of chance, the Liberia News Agency reports.

According to him, unlike the current legal authority under which the Liberia Lotteries Corporation operates, the bill seeks to extend the authority of the Lotteries regarding an institution to cover all games of chance operating in the country.

Following deliberations on the instrument, plenary forwarded it to the Committee on State Enterprise and Judiciary for scrutiny.
