MONROVIA, November 19 (LINA) - Deputy Information Minister Isaac Jackson has disclosed that the St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital in Congo Town, Monrovia is to re-open on Monday, November 24.

According to Jackson, the decision comes as a result of a recent meeting between President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and the Secretariat of the Catholic Archdiocese.

He made the disclosure at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) Ebola Daily briefing Wednesday.

Jackson revealed that during the meeting, the President extended gratitude to the Archdiocese and its partners and expressed sympathy for the loss of some of the hospital’s expatriate and local staff as a result of the Ebola outbreak.

The hospital closed in early August after it was hit by the deaths of a number of its staff, including the expatriate Administrator of the facility.
The 140-bed hospital serves as one of the leading medical facilities in the country.
