VOINJAMA, November 24 (LINA) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has donated assorted materials worth more than US$15, 000 to local authorities in Lofa County.

The materials include two motorbikes, 480 gallons of gas, 162 hand washing buckets, 102 cartons of Clorox, and five cartons of detergent soap and sanitizer, among others.

Presenting the materials in Voinjama over the weekend, an official of UNDP said the donation is intended to buttress government’s efforts in the fight against Ebola in Lofa County.

The UNDP official stressed that the materials are intended for use by district commissioners and their Ebola task forces.

Receiving the materials, Lofa County Superintendent George Dunor thanked UNDP for the donation and promised to ensure that the materials are used to contain further spread of the Ebola virus.

Dunor said despite the significant improvement in the fight against the virus, citizens of the county should not forget that Ebola still exists and should continue to follow the preventive measures.
