MONROVIA, December 1 (LINA) - Montserrado County Senator Joyce Musu Sumo Freeman has said she is confidence of winning “if the December 16 special senatorial election were held now.”

She made the statement despite mass turnout supporters at the campaign rallies of two of her opponents, CDC candidate George Weah and independent candidate Robert Sirleaf in recent days.

“I will beat my opponents in the race because I am the incumbent and I have the advantage over them,” Freeman told journalists at a meeting the National Election Commission (NEC) met with stakeholders in the race over the weekend.

The meeting was intended to inform parties and aspirants officially of the Supreme Court’s stay order to halting campaigning owing to a petition for an injunction against the election.

“I am not deterred by the (stay) order,” she said, stressing that she will win anytime the election is held despite the huge crowd that showed up at the political rallies of her opponents.
