MONROVIA, November 20 (LINA) -The National Election Commission (NEC) will require about US$15.3 million to conduct the Special Senatorial Election slated for December 16 this year, an official of the commission has disclosed.

NEC Director of Communications Joel Kennedy told the Liberia News Agency Thursday that the amount will be used to purchase election materials and pay poll workers, among others.

According to Kennedy, guidelines for the election will be released to the public as soon as they are completed.

He admonished political parties and independent candidates to conduct their campaigns peacefully, noting that negative behavior will have serious economic, political and social consequences on the country.
