TUBMANBURG, December 10 (LINA) - Jurors at the11th Judicial Circuit Court in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, have unanimously brought down a guilty verdict against 40 year-old Dauda Kamara for the crime of “Involuntary Sodomy”.

Defendant Kamara was on Tuesday found guilty by the court for sodomizing a 14 year-old boy (name withheld) in Gbar Jacket, Bomi County.

Kamara was arrested on April 21, 2014 in Gbar Jacket and sent to court by the Liberia National Police.

The police, following preliminary investigation, on Wednesday, April 24 charged the defendant with sexually abusing the 14 year-old child in Gbar Jacket.

The jurors said the act carried out by the defendant was criminal, unlawful, premeditated and intentional, thereby violating section 14.75 of the New Penal Code of Liberia.

The Presiding Judge of the court, Judge Koiboi Nuta, has reserved the sentence into the Guilty Verdict for a later date.
