MONROVIA, November 24 (LINA) - The Senatorial candidate of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), George Weah, has admonished Liberians to see the upcoming Special Senatorial Election as "a unifying force."

Weah said the election is not about individuals but the future of the country and the improvement of the livelihoods of its citizens.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Weah made the call when he addressed supporters at the party’s headquarters in Sinkor, Monrovia Thursday when campaign officially commenced for the December 16 poll.

He urged partisans to exercise tolerance and remain peaceful during the campaign period, noting, “After the election, every Liberian would continue to co-exist as one people of one nation.”

Weah then admonished Liberians to remain vigilant in the battle against the Ebola disease during the electioneering period, and paid tribute to Liberians who have died from the Ebola virus.

Meanwhile, Weah has announced his campaign team, naming Wilson K. Tarpeh, Vice President for Fiscal Affairs of the University of Liberia, as Campaign Manager.
