2 Political Parties Launch Campaign in Gbarpolu

KONGBA, November 24 (LINA) – Two candidates have launched their campaigns for the senatorial seat of Gbarpolu County in Belle and Kongba Districts respectively.

Nathaniel Farlo McGill of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and Fatuma Mamie Zinnah of the People’s Unification Part (PUP) both promised to improve the lives of the people of the two districts and Gbarpolu as a whole.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency via mobile phone from Belle District over the weekend following the launch his campaign, CDC’s McGill said when elected he will lift citizens of the county out of their development slumber.

Also speaking in Kongba, PUP’s Zinnah assured citizens of the county that she would improve the living condition of the people when elected.

The National Elections Commission (NEC) qualified seven candidates to contest the Special Senatorial Elections in the county.

They include Liberty Party Edwin Sumoward Harris, Unity Party Gertrude Tene Lamin, CDC Nathaniel Farlo McGill, Alliance for Progress and Development (APD) Theodore Momo Jr., National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alaric Tokpa and People’s Unification Party Fatuma Mamie Zinnah.
