Citizens from Electoral District # 6 in Bong County have officially complained Margibi lawmaker, Roland Opee Cooper to the House of Representatives, asking plenary to take stringent action against him.

Though not specifying what stringent action they want taken against him, but they petitioned the House to hasten the investigation into the matter.
The citizens’ complaint comes as the result of the January 15, 2015 standoff in the chambers of that august body, where Representatives Adma Bill Conneh received a punch from Rep Cooper.
The citizens in their petition urged the Committee on Rules, Orders and Administration to take full charge of the action of Rep Cooper which they say is “unwholesome”.
“We want to remind Honorable Cooper that the lower house of parliament is a place of  representation, lawmaking and oversight, …individuals of good morals, not individuals who resolve to physical brutality as means of persuading his or her colleagues,” the petition read.
“It is tantamount to a slap in the faces of the more than fifty thousand people that Hon. Corneh represents in the national Legislature,” the petition added.
“It is against this backdrop that we the peace-loving citizens of Electoral District#6 of Bong County are calling on Hon. Roland Opee Cooper, whose action does not match his title, to recognize that he has sinned against us and he must subsequently repent of his sin and prepare himself to bear the consequences thereof. ”
The communication from the citizens of Bong was read and forwarded to the committees on Rules, Orders & Administration, Claims, Petition and Judiciary to report in two weeks.
Prior to the citizens’ officially complaint, the Chairperson on Executive, Representative Wesseh Blamo has earlier asked the plenary to conduct an investigation into the matter.
