Commercial Court Judge Eva Mappy Morgan Wednesday remanded two counselors-at-law at the Monrovia Central Prison for one month each for allegedly falsifying a document indicting her for criminal transaction.

After assuming jurisdiction over the estate of the late Milad Hage through a mandate from the Supreme Court, Judge Mappy informed occupants that rental proceeds due be paid monthly at the Probate Court at the Temple of Justice.

But Cllr. Milton D. Taylor and Viama J. Blama were accused of crafting another letter incriminating Judge Mappy, reading "rental proceeds or money due shall be paid to Oumou S. Hage’s authorized representatives Mr. Toni T. Hage, Bashiir M. Hage and Mr. Cooper B. Yallah who are party to matter".

As a result of the alleged communications indicting the Commercial Court Chief, Judge Eva Mappy Morgan, Cllr. Milton D. Taylor and Viama J. Blama filed a six-count motion for recusal of Judge Mappy from the trial on grounds that she had compromised her neutrality in the case.

It was discovered by the Court that the communication was allegedly falsified by the two lawyers in order to indict the judge.

They informed the court that they obtained the letter from court officers but could not identify the officers, angering Judge Mappy to hold them in contempt with a 30-day prison sentence as provided for by law.

The counselors-at-law are presenting the legal interest of Mr. Bassam Jawhary in the Testate Estate of the late Milad R. Hage against his widow.

While en route to prison, Cllr. Taylor told judicial reporters that they harbor no regrets for their action.
