MONROVIA, December 31 (LINA) -Transport Minister Angeline Cassell Bush has disclosed that the Ministry of Transport (MOT) will introduce new designs of vehicle license plates and registration stickers in 2015.

She said the plates and stickers, which will come into use early 2015, will be used for a period of five years, and that all vehicles operating in the country will be required to use the new plates and stickers which will also contain inscriptions to identify counties from which vehicles come from.
Minister Bush made the disclosure at the Ministry of Information daily press conference held at the Ministry in Monrovia on Wednesday.
According to Minister Bush, the measures are intended to improve Liberia’s record keeping and to further prevent revenue losses due to illegal duplication of vehicle registration documents.
She also disclosed that in 2015, the Ministry of Transport, in line with its decentralization process, will redesign its office outside of Monrovia in order to extend vehicle registration services to Bong, Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties.
Meanwhile, Minister Bush has noted that the proposed Axel Load Law which was submitted to the National Legislature by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, will, when passed into law, control the usage of streets and highways to prevent the fast deterioration of roads and other infrastructures.
