BIN Officer Arrested For Alleged Possession Of Drugs

ROBERTSPORT, October 27 (LINA) - The Joint Security in Klay, Bomi County, has arrested an officer of the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN) for allegedly possessing 20 kilograms of marijuana.

Captain Massa Gbanyan, assigned in Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County, was arrested Friday, October 17, after the joint security found the drug on him while traveling from Cape Mount County to Monrovia.

News of the arrest of the BIN officer was contained in the Bureau's report to the County Ebola Task Force meeting held in Sinje Town at the weekend.

According to the report, Gbanyan is currently detained at the Tubmanburg Police Station undergoing preliminary investigation, after which he will be sent to court.
Meanwhile, the report says Gbanyan has denied the allegation.
