HARPER, November 5 (LINA) - The Superintendent of Barrobo Statutory District in Maryland County, George Geffie wants the youth of the county especially Pleebo, Karluway and Barrobo Districts to be serious with their education and stop rushing for money at the gold mines.

Superintendent Geffie said “it is disheartening nowadays to see the youth abandoning school to work on gold mines all over the county for the sake of money.”
 
He made the call Wednesday in Pleebo when he spoke at program marking the official opening of a Youth Center constructed by SIFCA Group of Companies in collaboration with Cavalla Rubber Corporation and Maryland Oil Palm Plantation.
 
Geffie observed that the Youth of the county will not be able to take over leadership from the older folks if they are not academically prepared today, because they will not be able to withstand the challenges of the future.
 
He thanked the Management of the companies for constructing the facility; he appealed to them to direct their future assistance in other directions for the growth of their districts.
