MONROVIA December 4 (LINA) -The Ministry of Health (MOH) in partnership with USAID and World Learning has launched a three-day psychosocial skill training session intended for parents of families being affected by the Ebola virus.
The training program is also intended to provide parents with Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), loss and grief counseling and tutorial to ensure positive discipline for children and child rights responsibilities.
Presenting an overview at the start of the training session held in the edifice of the Church of Praise in Logan Town, Bushrod Island on Thursday, the head for Child Protection at MOH, Victoria Zaway said the training will enable families overcome stress and other challenges caused by the Ebola virus.
Zaway said parents from affected Ebola families must be afforded the opportunity to tell their stories to social workers so that they can be given the needed attention which will eradicate their psychological trauma.
The training, which is expected to end Saturday, is being held simultaneously in Montserrado, Bomi and Lofa counties.
