MONROVIA, December 22 (LINA) – The Deputy Information Minister for Technical Services, Robert Kpadeh, says Liberia’s democracy is going through major phases of evolution,  making the exercise in civil liberties in the country better than in the past.

Kpadeh said he was optimistic that Liberia under the leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf will achieve more in bringing the relevant, uninterrupted democratic freedoms to the people of Liberia.

Speaking Monday at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference held at the ministry in Monrovia, Kpadeh noted that Liberians on a daily basis are continuing to demonstrate to the world that they are part of the civilized confederation of nations, as evidenced by the peaceful conduct of the mid-term senatorial elections held at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Kpadeh has extolled President Sirleaf for what he termed as her massive support to the electioneering process which many thought could have been impossible due to the Ebola outbreak in the country.

According to Kpadeh, the more Liberians embrace a democratic order that is suitable for them, the more the country will be recognized by the world as a place fit for foreign direct investment.

At the same time, the Deputy Information Minister has congratulated the National Elections Commission for the smooth conduct of the mid-term senatorial election, especially during this period when the nations is faced with a national health emergency.
