MONROVIA, December 8 (LINA) - The Chinese Army Medical Team in collaboration with the Chinese Expert Group on Bamboo and Rattan Weaving has donated anti-Ebola materials and food items valued at US$ 40,000 to the Samuel K Doe (SKD) Community and Red Light Market in Paynesville.

The materials include disinfection powder and buckets, motorcycles, rice and cooking oil, among others.

Presenting the materials over the weekend, the head of the Chinese PLA Medical Team, Mr. Wang Yungui, thanked residents of SKD Community for their support to the construction of the China ETU, and promised to work with the local people to win the battle against Ebola.

In response, representatives of the SKD community recounted and appreciated the long-term, selfless support that China has provided Liberia.

They commended the rapid Chinese team for the high quality Ebola Treatment Unit constructed in their community which, they said, has given them courage to feel safe during this Ebola crisis.

They pledged to fully cooperate with their Chinese friends to ensure that their work at the ETU goes ahead without hindrance.

Following the presentation ceremony, residents of the community toured the China ETU and its training center. The tour was led by Chinese Ambassador, Zhang Yue.
