VOINJAMA, December 12 (LINA)-Youth of at least seven towns in Quadou Gboni district in Lofa County have begun night patrols at various crossing points between Guinea and Quadou Gboni district.

The night patrols which started two weeks ago in Kondadu, Bongoidu, Mavekonnedu, Sakonnedu, Gbegbedu, Yarmakonnedu, Marvekonnedu, Sefudu and Korllelar Towns, is intended to stop the illegal entry of Guineans residing in bordering towns that are currently said to have increasing Ebola cases.

Making the disclosure Wednesday in Voinjama, a member of the Quadou Gboni district Ebola Task Force, Losinee Dukuly, said the night patrols are a result of information gathered about an increasing number of Ebola cases in  bordering towns  in Guinea, including Yavalazu and Komogodu.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Mr. Dukuly pointed out that information emanating from Guinea about Ebola cases in border towns is very alarming and needed to be taken seriously.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dukuly is appealing to humanitarian organizations and prominent citizens of the county to help provide the youth with flashlights, batteries, tea and sugar, among other materials that will help enhance their capacity to continue night patrols at various crossing points that cannot be easily manned by security officers in the county.
