TUBMANBURG, January 7 (LINA) - The Youth for Environmental Service (YES) is mounting efforts aimed at eradicating the Ebola virus in Gbarpolu County.
YES Program Manager James Johnson said the organization is targeting more than 25 communities in Bopolu District, Gbarpolu County.
Making the disclosure to journalists in Tubmanburg on Tuesday, Johnson said the communities, which include Gbarma and Totokoler, benefited from items such as buckets, medicated soap and other anti-Ebola materials.
He said the materials were made available by Plan Liberia to help prevent Ebola from entering the communities.
Johnson cautioned beneficiaries to always follow the Ebola preventive measures set by health authorities as this is one of the ways the virus can be eliminated.
He disclosed that plans are underway for YES to conduct an intensive training in handling Ebola-related cases across Gbarpolu and neighboring counties in western Liberia.
