MONROVIA, January 6 (LINA)-River Gee County Senator Conmany B. Wesseh says he will promote a Liberian Senate that will be more sensitive to the wishes and aspirations of the Liberian people.

He said a people-centered Liberian Senate would go a long way in helping to put smiles on the faces of the governed.

Ambassador Wesseh defined such concept as Liberia’s First Agenda, noting that realizing such an important goal will require working collaboratively with his colleagues.

He said he was happy to join other professionals in the Senate, and pledged to work along with them to build on whatever positive foundations they have laid in line with ongoing efforts to transform Liberia.

The River Gee Senator said he envisages a Liberian Senate that ensures that all decisions taken at the National Legislature are in the best interest of the country and its people.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Ambassador Wesseh made the statement at the First Assembly of God Church in Clara Town Monday, during a thanksgiving service and civic reception program held in his honor.

He observed that such services would be reflected through prudent economic negotiations at the Liberian Senate, building up the manpower needs of the country as well as the education sector, among other important areas.

Meanwhile, Senator Wesseh has hailed the people of River Gee County, especially those who helped in various positive ways to ensure his victory in the December 20, 2014 Special Senatorial Election after two previous unsuccessful attempts, and pledged to always remain a symbol of unity, peace, genuine reconciliation and development.

The program was organized by the group called the  Progressive Friends of Ambassador Wesseh, the River Gee University Students Association, River Gee Development Association, the Elders Council of River Gee County and the Women Development Association of River Gee County.
