MONROVIA, January 9 (LINA)-Bong County Senator Jewel Howard Taylor has challenged Liberian youths to build their capacities, if Liberians should take control of their economy in the near future.

Senator Taylor said Liberian youths  should prepare themselves in schools and vocational institutions and obtain certificates in specific professions for the country’s job market.

The Bong County Lawmaker proffered the challenge Friday at the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinion (CEIO) on Carey Street in Monrovia.

She indicated that the preparation of Liberian youth professionally should be a priority to ensure the attainment of the national development agenda that would move Liberia forward.

“Opportunity for job will avail itself if you are prepared; concession companies are complaining about lack of skillful youth in the job market because some skillful youth have no certificates in the society” she added.

Senator Taylor emphasized that Liberian youth who need to go to school or vocational institutions should not hesitate to obtain  degrees or certificates which, she observed, is the first line toward opportunity on the job market nationally and internationally.
