HARPER, September 19 (LINA) - Acting Maryland County Superintendent Nathaniel S. Toe has called on Marylanders to take the Ebola situation as a challenge to go back to the soil and grow more food.

He said the county is experiencing acute shortage of basic agricultural commodities due to the closure of its borders with neighboring countries from where these commodities were imported.

Superintendent Toe made the call recently during a meeting held at the County Administration Building on the economic outlook of the county.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Toe is urging residents of Harper to cultivate vacant land in the city and grow vegetables which were imported from neighboring Ivory Coast.
