ROBERTSPORT, September 9 (LINA) -The Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN) has upped its patrol of the Liberia-Sierra Leone border along the Mano River to avoid illegal entry into the country.
The BIN Commander at Bo-Waterside in Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County, Col. Sam Mulbah, made the disclosure Monday when the County Superintendent, Imam Mohammed A. Paasewe, paid a visit to the border to acquaint himself with activities at the border since its closure in the aftermath of the Ebola outbreak.
Col. Mulbah said although the Liberian Government closed the border early August amidst the Ebola outbreak in the country, the joint security at the border are patrolling the area day and night to ensure that people from both sides of the border do not cross the river by canoe.
He said the measures are also intended to monitor all “illegal crossing points” used by drug dealers and other criminals that have been discovered by the security, adding “these are security measures that will avoid penetration.”
In remarks, Superintendent Paasewe commended the joint security for their commitment, honesty and professional performance at the border.
