The Ministry of Justice has imposed new and tougher restrictions on operation of commercial motorcycles across Liberia, particularly in the capital, Monrovia, and its environs.
Speaking at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing Thursday in Monrovia, Justice Minister and Attorney General Benedict Sannoh said motorcyclists will not be allowed to ply streets in the capital and major highways or boulevards linking the city, adding that an earlier 10 PM ban imposed on bikers have been reinstated. The barohibits motorcyclists from operating beyond 10 pm.
Media practitioners in Liberia are being urged to highlight water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) issues in the media in order to draw policymakers and other stakeholders’ attention, and to make them to adopt concrete steps to ensure the provision of the life-saving necessity to every segment of the population.
