According to the report, Montserrado leads the chart with 6,484 or 79% of registered businesses, followed by Margibi with 299 or 4%, while Rivercess accounts for only six of all registered profit and non-profit businesses.
The report, which was initiated by the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Finance, Foreign Affairs and the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), reports that males dominate ownership of businesses registered during the period under review.
The LBR report expressed optimism that there will be an increase in the number of businesses registered annually, based on the quality of services it will provide to the business community and entrepreneurs who have interest in establishing enterprises.
It also cited the level of economic stability, which can be attributed to the economic recovery and business reform programs instituted by the Government of Liberia and her international partners.
