Jackson clarified that Nyenswah’s absence from the presidential delegation was due to the error made during the processing of visas of the assistant health minister and other officials of government in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference held at the Ministry in Monrovia Tuesday, Jackson described the statement as “a falsehood that must have emanated from the belly of the devil.”

“Considering that our leader is expected to address the European Union Conference on Ebola, these experts from Liberia had to process their visas in Abidjan. The passports of Nyenswah and others were sent to Cote d’Ivoire for processing, but regrettably their visas were stamped March 1 instead of February 27,” Jackson said.

He noted that the visas were resent to Abidjan for change of the date from March 1 to February 27 as Nyenswah and the others should have been in Brussels to carry out technical preparations before the conference.

Jackson said the corrections were made, but unfortunately, as a result of packaging error, the federal agents sent the visas to London instead of Liberia, adding, “as we speak, those passports containing all of the visas of the technical team are in London.”

“It was not only Minister Nyenswah that had this unfortunate situation; he was not prevented from traveling because he had some complications with Ebola money. As we speak those passports are to return to Liberia on March 6,” Jackson added.
