GRAND BASSA –Nov. 4 (LINA)-The Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Madam Julia Bono in the early hours of Monday, November 4, 2024, answered the call of death at the Liberian Government Hospital, in Grand Bassa County.

General Madam Bono, who once served as aide camp, was known for her tireless efforts in improving the lives of her constituents and advocating for development in the region left behind a legacy of dedication and service to her community.

Her leadership was marred by initiatives aimed at enhancing education, health care, and infrastructure in Grand Bassa.

The circumstances surrounding her death have not been fully disclosed but her remains have been deposited at the Evening Rest Funeral Home, marking a somber moment for Grand Bassa.

In a tribute to his late mother, Jeston C. Bono, a son of the fallen Stateswoman shared his deep sorrow following the passing of Superintendent Julia K. Bono describing her as a guiding light in his life.

Jeston emphasized how much she shaped the person he is today, citing “My mother made me who I am,” he said, as his voice trembled with emotion.

Adding, “She was a good woman, dedicated to her family and community.” Jeston reflected on the pain of not being able to provide the medical care he believed she deserved, stating, “What hurts the most is that I could afford to take her to any hospital, but I didn’t get the chance.”

Superintendent Bono’s sudden passing has left a significant void in the community, and her son’s words resonate with many who admired her commitment to public service. “Rest on, Mother. You know I love you,” Jeston concluded, as he prepares to honor his mother’s memory alongside family, friends, and colleagues.

As preparations are made for memorial services at the Evening Rest Funeral Home, the community continues to come together in grief, celebrating the life and legacy of a beloved leader and mother.
