Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti has reaffirmed that Liberia remains steadfast in the Adherence to the "One China Policy".

Nyanti stated that nearly two decades ago, Liberia formally adopted the “One-China Policy,” which remains a cornerstone of Liberia’s foreign policy towards China.

Underscoring the strength and significance of the Liberia-China relationship during her address at the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing, Liberia Foreign Minister Nyanti stated that the longstanding bilateral relationship between Liberia and the People’s Republic of China continues to deliver mutual benefits for both nations.

According to Nyanti, Liberia's unwavering commitment to the principles and objectives of FOCAC, under the astute leadership of President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr., remains steadfast in its adherence to the One China Policy.

"Our relationship with China is anchored in shared vision and goals, as articulated by our leaders, President Xi Jinping and President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.

Nyanti highlighted the vision of the "One-China policy" saying it includes building a shared future through ‘win-win cooperation,’ focusing on industrial capacity development, infrastructure connectivity, trade facilitation, green development, capacity building, healthcare, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security. She mentioned that Liberia is eager to further strengthen ties with China.

Nyanti praised the forum, which according to her has been instrumental over the past 21 years in enhancing bilateral relations between African countries and China, fostering economic cooperation, and promoting South-South Cooperation on the global stage.

“On behalf of President Joseph N. Boakai, the Government and People of Liberia, we extend our deepest gratitude to the People’s Republic of China and our local, national, developmental, bilateral, and multilateral partners for their continued support to Liberia,” Foreign Minister Nyanti expressed.

She acknowledged China’s support for public-private partnerships, which is essential for Liberia’s development.

“On behalf of President Boakai, the Government and People of Liberia, we extend profound thanks to President Xi Jinping and the Government and People of China for the 9th Ministerial Conference.
