Njoroge expressed gratitude for the generous contribution of the Government and the People of Japan in supporting the cause.
Furthermore, the WFP official outlined her institutionβs efforts in Liberia, which according to her include vital programs such as the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, which serves over 70,000 schoolchildren with nutritious meals and supports 15,000 smallholder farmers by creating a market for their produce.
She highlighted that these initiatives emphasize the significance of sustainable and community-oriented approaches to tackle food security challenges.
Njoroge highlighted that the initiative will not only support the health and education of children but also boosts local economies, enhancing resilience against future shocks.
She thanked the Government of Liberia for their continuous support and trust in WFP to oversee the national central medical stores, ensuring the timely delivery of medical supplies to health facilities nationwide, even in remote areas, with the support of the Global Fund and USAID.
