SINJE TOWN, Nov. 5 (LINA) – The Community Sustainable Development Organization (COSDO) has presented several essential agriculture implements to the farmers' cooperatives in Gohn Zoduah, Grand Cape Mount County.
Making the presentation over the weekend, Mohammed Kiazolu, COSDO's County Project Officer, said the farming implements were donated to the farming group following a plea from the group for assistance.
According to COSDO's County Project Officer, they are partners to farmers who are passionate about growing more food, as such, “we help based on the progress the farmers are making.”
He revealed that their organization is currently collaborating with five different farmers' groups across Grand Cape Mount County. He expressed openness to expanding their partnerships with additional groups, emphasizing the importance of seriousness and coordinated efforts.
The donated tools, which include wheelbarrows, shovels, hoes, cutlasses, water cans, and rainboots, are expected to significantly enhance the farmers' productivity.
Abraham Kromah, speaking on behalf of the Gohn Zoduah Farmers' Cooperative, expressed gratitude to COSDO for the generous donation.
He assured the organization that the tools would be used effectively to support their two-phase project, which focuses on cassava, rice, and vegetable production.
Kromah also appealed to the Ministry of Agriculture and other agricultural partners in the county to follow COSDO's example and provide similar support to cooperative farming groups.
Ereka Swamin, who is Co-chair of the Gohn Local Farmers Cooperative also echoed similar sentiment, praising COSDO for the assistance.
