MONROVIA, June 15 (LINA) – The Deputy Director for Administration at the Liberia National Police (LNP), Col. Williams K. Mulbah has called on officers of the Public Affairs Department of the LNP to always exercise professionalism while in service.

Speaking to participants of a two-day training for officers of the department, held at the LNP Headquarters Thursday, Col. Mulbah cautioned police staff to be accurate and professional in the dissemination of information for public consumption.

He urged participants of the workshop to take initiative and implement what they were taught during the training exercise.

Col. Mulbah asserted that the training was designed to enhance the capabilities of police officers in public communication, media relations and other basic elements in policing.

Serving as facilitator at the workshop, Police Spokesperson, Cecelia G. Clarke, admonished beneficiaries of the training to utilize the knowledge gained in ensuring that their communication skills are not only effective but resonate with the value of integrity and service that define a police officer.

“Let us embrace the chance to develop and advance our capacities, skills and continue our commitment in serving the public,” the LNP Spokesperson mentioned.

Madam Clarke added that the first line of duties of the police officers starts at the front of fostering transparency and trust between the LNP, media institutions and the communities they serve.

Meanwhile, Madam Clarke indicated that the workshop is pivotal to police officers in equipping them with the essential skills needed for preparing press releases, editing news contents and mastering adobe editing software, among others.
