Senator Varpilah Urges Residents Of Cape Mount To Foster Development

ROBERTSPORT July 30 (LINA) – Grand Cape Mount County Senator Dabah Varpilah has called for unity among residents of the county, particularly among citizens of Porkpa District as she emphasizes the need for reconciliation to propel the district forward.

Speaking during a visit to her county on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Grand Cape Mount , Senator Varpilah admonished her people to set-aside political divisions in favor of collective progress.

“It’s time to rebuild our community and capitalize on our natural resources. A divided Porkpa is vulnerable to exploitation,” The Grand Cape Mount Senator noted.

She urged residents to work together to overcome past differences and harness the district's potential.

At the same time, a local and influential businessman in the district, Idrisa Mansaray has acknowledged his role in the district's challenges and expressed his willingness to participate in the reconciliation efforts.

It has been alleged that Mr. Mansary has been involved in many of the conflicts in the district, but he has now agreed to be a part of a lasting peace process in the district.

Also speaking at the gathering, Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation Managing Director, Mohammed Ali, encouraged the businessman to take a leadership role in the process, given his influence and public admission of past shortcomings.

According to the Liberia News Agency Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent, residents of Porkpa District pledged support to the Senator’s reconciliation efforts.
