The Ministry of Public Works has embarked on a rigorous site visit along the Ganta to Saclepea Road Project ahead of the dry season to begin construction in the coming days.
The Project, which is the Southeastern Corridor Road Asset Management, has been experiencing problems following months of pull-out by the contractor, Chonging International Construction Corporation (CICO), however, the construction has retaken a positive dimension.
According to a release dated September 26, 2024, the company, through the intervention of the Ministry of Public Works has redeployed to begin construction on the Ganta to Saclepea Corridor Road as a High Power team of technocrats led by Deputy Minister for Technical Services, Prince D. Tambah visits the site.
Minister Tambah disclosed that the visitation is aimed at ensuring that the contractor is present on the site to address the difficulties faced by commuters as well as to access the contractor's commitment and remobilization ahead of the Dry Season.
According to him, the move is geared towards ensuring that the entire corridor is stabilized and subsequently paved during the dry season for people to have easy access and free flow of traffic along the road.
Meanwhile, Minister Tambah used the occasion to caution community dwellers and truck drivers against the digging of potholes along the corridor, which he believed would undermine the efforts of the contractor and create uneasy access for commuters
